Homework Research Study:
Ms Corbett (Science Teacher and school SENCo) is currently undertaking a research project in the area of student and parental attitudes to homework and the effect of such attitudes on homework completion. This study is being completed as part of an MSc in Psychology through the University of Derby.
Who will take part?
Three classes per year group (listed below) have been selected to participate in the study:
8C, 8E and 8G
9D, 9E and 9G
10E, 10B and 10G
11A, 11B and 11F
12B, 12C and 12E
13A, 13B and 13C
14A, 14B, 14C and 14D
What does the study involve?
Participating students and their parents / guardians are asked to give their consent to take part in the study. Consent forms (for both students and parent / guardians have been given out to those students invited to take part. Please sign and return to the school using the envelope provided.
Students: You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire about your attitude to and beliefs about homework, during a PD lesson in school.
Parents /Guardians: You will be asked to complete a very short questionnaire about your attitude to your child completing homework and your involvement in their homework completion.
Participation is voluntary however it would be very much appreciated if parents/guardians and students, would support the study by taking part.
