Set amidst the beautiful scenery of Gransha Park, on the banks of the River Foyle stands Oakgrove Integrated College, a co-educational, non-denominational centre of excellence and achievement. Oakgrove Integrated College opened its doors in 1992, 17 years on it is still the only Integrated Post Primary School in the area
.
As an integrated school, we are ever-committed to seeking out and welcoming what is different and recognising the challenge to accept what is new. We foster world-wide partnerships, encouraging students to discover the joy of integrating which continues beyond the experience of school.
Our school is based on the ethos that everyone is equal and has the right not to be discriminated against in any way, particularly with regard to religious or cultural identity, gender, sexuality or ability. We aim to do this by developing the self esteem of each member of the school community.
The provision of Education in Northern Ireland is changing and we at Oakgrove Integrated College are perfectly placed to deliver these changes. Oakgrove is an all-ability school, for all children, not just those deemed failures by an out-dated and objectionable examination. We educate the whole child; enabling all to achieve the highest academic standards whilst fostering courage and willingness to take risks.
Our history shows that we can successfully educate children of all abilities together, ensuring success for all, year after year.
Oakgrove is a different school, inspired by the desire for a better future because we view difference as strength, not a weakness. Rest assured that Oakgrove is no ordinary college and if you are willing to embark on the exciting challenge of life-long learning, join us now.
In Oakgrove, I made new friends and it feels like the days fly by. It is a bigger space, better teachers and subjects.
